Harris Teeter Invites Shoppers to Grand Re-Opening Sampling Event in Norfolk, Va.

Charlotte, N.C., Oct.6, 2011 – Harris Teeter invites shoppers to attend a grand re-opening celebration featuring a free sampling event at the Norfolk, Va. Harris Teeter in the Ghent neighborhood on Oct. 8 and 9. Grab the family and visit Harris Teeter for delectable samples, free health screenings and more.

Harris Teeter’s Fresh Foods Market will feature delicious free samples of fresh sushi, specialty cheeses, pizza and much more. The Farmers Market as well as Butchers Market will feature various offerings, and the Wine Center will showcase sample beers and wines. The event will also include several national brands on-site to distribute free samples of various products.

A Flu Shot Clinic will be available at the pharmacy throughout the weekend – walk-ins and appointments are welcome. Free health screenings will also be conducted from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Shoppers can receive blood glucose testing, biometric measurement and a health risk assessment.

The kids will love seeing Harry the Happy Dragon who will be distributing Harris Teeter’s tasty sugar cookies and Harry the Happy Dragon balloons as well as kids coloring sheets and Fresh Chef Kids Cookbooks.

The Harris Teeter Rancher Truck and Ice Cream Truck will also be on-site Saturday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Sunday from noon – 4 p.m. Shoppers will be served samples of NY Strip Steak, hot off the grill as well as yummy Harris Teeter Brand ice cream for dessert.

The Harris Teeter in Ghent originally opened in March, but the parking lot remained under construction. Harris Teeter is hosting this event as a way to thank loyal shoppers for their patience and support throughout the parking lot completion.

Urgent Care Centers, Inc. Closes the Purchase of its First ImMEDIate CARE Site

Georgia based Urgent Care Centers, Inc. is pleased to announce it has closed the purchase of Boykins Family Practice in Boykins, Virginia. They will take over operation of the practice effective January 2, 2007. The terms of the sale were not disclosed.

The practice will be expanded by increasing in-house diagnostic capabilities, hours of operation and the number of healthcare providers.
